Reporting to the Director, Development & Engagement, the Relationship & Development Officer
will develop, grow, and strengthen individual donor and corporate relationships. This individual
will serve as primary coordinator for several fundraising campaigns at Halifax workplaces and
support overall development and fundraising efforts at United Way Halifax. In this role, you will:

Lead and manage corporate and public sector fundraising campaigns and build strong,
mutually beneficial relationships with key partners, campaigns, and individuals, and
provide exceptional support to ensure campaign success.

Create and action annual plans to secure year-round support and engagement with
United Way Halifax.

Work cross-departmentally with United Way Halifax colleagues to provide appropriate
support and value to partners, donors, and volunteers.

Maintain accurate and detailed records to track campaign success and business
activity, and complete regular local, regional, and national reporting.

Plan and host regular volunteer training sessions virtually and in-person for executive
campaign coordinators and other campaign volunteers.

Our ideal candidate is self-directed, diligent, efficient, and an effective and creative problem solver. They bring energy and strong relationship building skills to this role to achieve
fundraising results and generate impact in our community. They embrace change and are
excited to learn, grow, and make a difference every day.

Ideal experience, skills and competencies include at least two to three years of progressive
fundraising, business development, professional sales, or relationship-focused work experience
along with a keen attention to detail and extensive experience working with Microsoft Office
applications.

United Way Halifax is committed to a comprehensive compensation package including salary,
pension contribution, health and dental benefits, generous vacation time, professional
development and training, flexible work hours and location, and parking/transit pass. The salary
range for this position starts at $52,000 per year.
